WB 2286 1960s WMGB Foleshill

Coventry Corporation Gas Works, built in 1909 between Longford and Exhall and Foleshill stations was situated in pleasant green fields. W. Bagnall works No.2286 of 1925 was one of a fleet of four Bagnall locomotives which were all scrapped on site by Sheppards’ (Coals and Metals), one each year from 1962 to 1965, with No.2286 being the last surviving to July 1965.
