MR 1205 1910s Kentish Town MPD

Midalnd Railway Kirtley '690' (LMS '1P') class 0-4-4 Back Tank No. 1205. Built by Beyer, Peacock & Co. of Manchester in July 1869 as MR No. 695 and withdrawn in January 1926 as LMS No. 1205.

Matthew Kirtley designed these very distinctive 0-4-4 Back Tanks of which just 6 were built by Beyer, Peacock & Co, all serving for over 50 years. A 'Back Tank' has the water tank placed underneath the coal bunker.
