Crewe Works had several Ex-L&Y 0-6-0s as resident shunters in the mid 1950s -Nos 52093, 52218, 52312, 52345 and 52441. No 52345 managed to escape, being briefly reallocated to Crewe South shed (5B) but the others remained works shunters to the end which came in May-September 1962. Here No 52312 awaits the next week’s activity during a Sunday works visit.
