9755 and 1624 0-6-0PTs with a loaded china clay train probably bound for Fowey Docks in 1960.

Peter Kerslake adds "The line from the china clay dries at Burngullow to St. Dennis Junction on the Par to Newquay line was beset with gradients of 1 in 40 at its steepest together with a series of severe curves. This limited use to short wheelbase locomotives on the china clay workings and in later years requiring regular double headed workings."
