44934 1950s Leeds Farnley Junction

LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 44934 with a Leeds slow at Farnley on ex-L&NWR metals heading westbound towards Morley in c1955. The view is from Gelderd Road Bridge looking towards Leeds. The train is on ex-L&NWR metals and is heading westbound towards Morley. Farnley Junction MPD (1882-1966) is on the left, the spire of St. Bartholomew’s Church at Armley is on the skyline. On the right, a new Leeds Depot for Cadbury/Fry’s chocolate company is under construction - since demolished.
