32124 1950s Exeter Central
One of Exeter’s banking engines of Class E1R 0-6-2T, which for many years helped propel SR passenger trains up the steep gradient between St David’s GWR station and Exeter Central (SR).
32124 has earned a rest after a bout of strenuous activity assisting an express bound for Waterloo in the 1950s.
Built (as an 0-6-0T) 1878; w/d January 1959 after 80 years of service.
