Peter Kerslake writes "Laira's '3150' class No. 3186 was a regular for banking duties on Hemerdon Bank and is at Corn Wood, about two thirds of the way up the 1 in 42 climb to the summit, providing assistance to 7820 Dinmore Manor with a freight from Marsh Mills yards at Tavistock Junction. Fortified with one of Grandmother's pasties this was a lovely spot for me to capture on film many an afternoon's activities in the mid ' fifties, and well worth the cycle ride and long trek by foot to reach this location."
