Peter Kerslake says "The former G.W.R. Railcars did not look as splendid in the rather drab all over green livery carried in their later years, their glory days in the fine chocolate and cream livery having long since passed.
Railcar number 26 seen here at Worcester in 1961 carries bodywork from Swindon Works, one of the 1940 wartime series of fourteen coming from Swindon that year, and Worcester had been a centre for the Railcars for some years before this photograph, hosting the most still in service in 1956 with six on its books, although number 26 seen here was actually at Leamington at that time in company with one of the two parcels only varients, number 17."
