Ex-London & North Western Railway Whale '19in. Express Goods' class 4-6-0 No. 8867. Built at Crewe in October 1909 as L&NWR No. 1630 and withdrawn in April 1936.

A fine panorama of the turntable area at Rugby (ex-L&NWR) MPD taken on a fine July day in 1931. There were 170 of this useful, if unsung class built from 1906-9. Three survived to become BR stock but were withdrawn by 1950 still in LMS livery.
