3813 1920s St Denys

GWR County class 4-4-0 No 3813 County of Carmarthen leaves St.Denys with a Didcot to Southampton Terminus train.

Peter Kerslake says "In their early days the 'Counties' worked on the principal express passenger duties from Paddington to the West Country but as the larger and more powerful 'Saint' 4-6-0s came into service the forty 'Counties' were relegated to secondary duties and by 1923 the majority were at Bristol Bath Road and Wolverhampton with a few at Swindon, Worcester, Swansea and Pontypool Road. 3813 was bult at Swindon in November 1906 and remained in service until condemned from Didcot in November 1931.
