67382 1950c Doncaster Station

67382 1950c Doncaster Station

This is the North end of the station 67382 is standing on the Up through road attached at the rear of a train of gas tanks . The men are standing on Platform 4 with No.1 Platform behind them, Platforms 2 3 were bay platforms at the southern end of the station. This could be an ex Works loco being delivered to Carr Loco via the gas tank train as a single movement or just a transfer working. Note the push bike on the gaurds van, probably hanging on the lamp bracket! How places change. The building is no longer on the north end of what used to be No.1 4 Platforms. The area behind the box was the cattle dock and all of the buildings behind the loco's dome and chimney, including the West Riding Court House, have disappeared. What used to be the cattle dock was modernised to give us Gresley House and a multi-storey car park which was great for train spotting from in the 1970s! Both have now gone in further modernisation, being replaced by a Transport Interchange with a multi-storey car park and shopping centre.
